Yui Yoshioka began playing the piano at the age of seven.
In 2007, after a recommendation by Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, she enrolled as a young talented artist in the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, thereby launching her European career.
Yui has won many prizes, including:
The Special Awards at the Student Music Concours of Japan in 2001 (55th edition), 2003 (57th edition), and 2005 (59th edition).
1st Prize at the 2nd International Piano Competition in Honolulu, USA.
3rd Prize at the ZF-Musikpreis at the International Piano Competition in Lindau, Germany.
1st Prize at the 13th Padova International Competition in the category for Solo Piano, as well as the 3rd Prize in the category for Soloist and Orchestra in Padova, Italy.
2nd Prize at the Ischia International Piano Competition in Ischia, Italy.
1st Prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition in the category for Piano in Vienna, Austria.
Silver Prize at the 49th Kawai Music Competition in Tokyo, Japan.
These are some of the highlights of her concert career:
In 2001, she performed piano concertos with the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra (Conductor: Roland Bader).
From thereon, she has performed with the Wagnar Society Orchestra (Conductor: Akira Senju), the Orchestrada Philharmonic (Conductor: Sean Kubota), and the Ibaraki Symphony Orchestra (Conductor: Sean Kubota).
In 2002, Yui was invited to perform at the concert for Young Japanese and German artists, hosted by the German Embassy in Tokyo.
Ever since her first solo Recital at the age of 12 at the Steinway Salon in the Matsuo Hall in Tokyo, she has given numerous concerts and recitals throughout Japan as well as all across Europe.
In 2019, she appeared as a guest on the NHK radio program “Recital Nova”.
Yui studied with Prof. Katsuko Miura, Prof. Emiko Harimoto, Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Prof. Lilya Zilberstein and Prof. Dina Yoffe at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, Germany, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, Germany, and Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, Austria, where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Piano Performance.
As of August 2020, she started teaching at the SONY CSL Piano Academy "Music Excellence Project" as an assistant instructor. (https://www.sonycsl.co.jp/se/11259/)
In April 2022, Yui released her first CD “Promenade”.
