MISES EN MUSIQUE

Combining Arts

The third edition of the Joie de Vivre Festival combines classical music and visual arts, offering the audience an experience of the senses.
Taking inspiration from the Salon Concert- a concert format popular in the 19th Century, which provided an intimate setting where artists gathered to discuss their work and ideas- Joie de Vivre seeks to bring back this tradition in pairing the performance of a musical piece with visual artwork.

Finding a common language and aesthetic between image and sounds adds another dimension to the classical concert setting, and invites the listener to engage in a different way with music.

In collaboration with the iconic Klimt Villa in Vienna- the place where Gustav Klimt had his Atelier until the day of his death in 1918- Joie de Vivre presents a programme that complements his works that are displayed at the villa.
